ELECTROTHON 5.0

Taking moonshots is no smooth sailing. It’s an inherently unpredictable ride. As we launch the 5th lunation of Electrothon, we strive for nothing less than the moon. Run by the student community - SPEC under the moonlight of NIT Hamirpur, Electrothon has impacted over 5000 sapiens. The Electrothon buzz of had reached Area 51 and the alien fraternity wanted to join. However, they were quarantined because of the pandemic. But the sapiens who joined left no stone unturned to ideate and amalgamate technologies that transfigure visions into reality.

The themes for this year’s Himachal’s first in-person MLH member event: Electrothon 5.0 are as follows:

The details of some keynote sessions and workshops are as follows:

  • Fireside Chat with Gaurav Juyal

    Gaurav Juyal, former host of Disney Art Attack India, a learning experience designer and a TEDx speaker engaged in a fireside chat with the hackathon attendees. He talked about designing for social impact and highlighted the intersection between technology and design. As an articulate speaker for our hackathon, Gaurav threw a bright light on the most exceptional ideas and solutions, and guided the attendees through the ups and downs, steering them towards excellence and distinction. He also offered insights into how art can be used as a tool for innovation and problem-solving.

  • Exploring the Potential of Web3 and Blockchain in Business - Workshop

    Kundan Singh, a well-renowned crypto enthusiast and a community manager at NFT Collector delivered a talk on leveraging blockchain and Web3 in business

  • How Flutter helps build cross-platform Applications - Workshop

    Aditya Thakur, a developer advocate at 100ms and a content creator with a 1700+ member community on Discord delivered a session on building cross-platform applications using Flutter.

  • Introduction to Quine and Open-source - Workshop

    Rodrigo Mendoza-Smith, founder and CEO of Quine, a data-driven professional network for software creators, as well as GitNFT, delivered a virtual session on open-source and Quine.

  • Cracking Top Product Companies’ Coding Interviews - Keynote Session

    Devang Sharma, Senior Engineer at BMO Canada and founder of TechElite, was an invited speaker for Electrothon 5.0. With experience working at Facebook, as well as in hedge funds, capital markets, and HFT, Devang unravelled the secrets to cracking top companies’ coding interviews.

  • The Power of Storytelling and Community Building - Keynote Session

    Insha Ramin, who currently works as a Developer Advocate at Showwcase and has formerly worked as Developer Advocate at Dasha and joined our event with a talk on the topic: The Power of Storytelling in Community Building.
