About Unni/Unns/Unnati

I am Unnati, a final year student at IGDTUW, a past MLH Fellow who is currently living in Delhi, India. I am serving as DevRel Engineer at AssetMantle. I am an open-source contributor and past LFX Mentee. I have contributed to almost forty-five repositories, such as Layer5, open-horizon, and Public Lab. I had a chance to mentor at AnitaB Organisation in the Eclipse Adoptium project having 5,000 girls and non-binary. One of the projects Care4ther is published in Google Developers Library. I have been invited as a mentor and speaker at various communities like GDSC, Commudle, and MyCaptain and have impacted around 500 students there. I have faced many challenges while building community and stepping into tech, having no mentor to guide me, as a physically challenged contributor I have also faced issues in the way of learning, etc. Overcoming these challenges not only boost my confidence but also helped me to gain better leadership qualities, teaching qualities, quick decision-making power, and gain positivity in every situation. Even though the internship opportunities, I was able to build oratory skills and professionalism in my tasks. I am the founder of CodXCrypt, which is an open-source community guiding people regarding open source and project ideas. I started this in my sophomore year, intending to give back to the community. Because in my college, there was no guidance regarding open source and development. So, I started a regular open-source session with 20+ people along with Gourav Sharma, but in one year, in every session, around 100+ students are taking the insights. I believe that a community is a place that helps a newcomer get familiar with every tech stack. They could learn together and grow together. We host workshops, mentorship sessions, and hackathons to give students real-world experience. We have a future aim to teach every student and make them aware of open-source. Since my sophomore days, I’ve been giving back to the tech community by taking rigorous workshops, mentoring girls of my community, and impacting 10K+ people via my community CodXCrypt.
