AI Saturdays Port Harcourt

“Our intelligence is what makes us human, and AI is an extension of that quality.” – Yann LeCun Professor, New York University

Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science involved with building machines that simulate human intelligence. Artificial intelligence has several applications in various fields such as finance, medicine, bioinformatics and chemistry, robotics, etc. It aims at building software that automates routine labor, makes diagnostics, supports scientific research, amongst other applications. In 2019, the field created over 300,000 jobs (such as machine learning engineers, data scientists, and business intelligence developers) and could create 58 million new jobs in the next two years; AI being the fourth industrial revolution technology.

About AI Saturdays

AI Saturdays (affectionately known as AI6) is a community-driven, non-profit and global movement across the globe to make Artificial Intelligence education at the quality and rigor of the world’s best universities accessible to everyone for free. AI6 is a free-to-attend, structured study groups going through materials used in universities like Stanford, Berkeley, and UCL, covering cutting-edge techniques in AI and deep learning. These study groups are held every Saturday and done in cycles. Each cycle consists of a 14 weeks structured lesson plan targeted at people with different skill levels.

About AI Saturdays Port Harcourt

We are an active learning community in Rivers State, Nigeria. We organize structured study groups around core Artificial Intelligence fields like Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing through the use of massive open online courses (MOOCs) and courses from top universities across the globe.

Our Goal

To democratize, diversify and demystify Artificial Intelligence by creating a community where Artificial Intelligence is accessible, distributed and simplified. “We believe that anyone can learn to code and build with Artificial Intelligence” We believe in you.
