CCS X Hack

One of the first social hackathons in Caracas, and of the best

CCS X Hack is a two-day MLH-style hackathon with university leaders from Caracas. The hackathon will consist of discussing Venezuelan problems or challenges related to the SDGs and then developing solutions through code.

Objectives

  • To position Venezuela as one of the main participants in technological-community events in South America and to provide a space for those who have ideas and interest in implementing solutions.
  • To create a community of developers in Caracas who are interested in developing this type of event.
  • To generate social awareness among young Venezuelans.

Development

The event will begin by talking about the SDGs and the existing problems related to them in Caracas, then the participants, in groups of 3 people, will choose a problem and propose a software-based solution during the first hours of the hackathon. A mentor will be assigned to each team and during the rest of the hackathon, the teams will develop their solutions. At the end of the second day, the presentations of the projects will be made and the jury will select the 3 winning teams based on an evaluation scale.
