Iqrah is a Computer Science student at Manchester Metropolitan University, currently doing a placement year as a technology intern. She loves attending and organising tech activities, especially hackathons! She is a GitHub Campus Expert, the founder of the hackathon society, helloHackers Soc, and runs Code First:Girls at her uni. She truly believes and cares for the hacker community, as that has played a huge role in boosting her technical and soft skills. Having said that, she still struggles with imposter syndrome and shyness, and is yet to figure out what sort of career or life she wants to pursue. She also aims to destigmatize the term hacker and any false stereotype attached to it.
This was the first initiative taken by helloHackers Soc to make its members know more about open source. Its benefits, how they can contribute how to complete Hacktoberfest in order to win a cool looking t-shirt.
